some study i have done recently

I have not able to update my blog for sometime. its been quite busy for me as I am still working on this children's illustration book. It is almost to finish but it might wait a while for it is ready to show in the public. So as far as now I only have few study to show. here are some study I have done in my spare time. mainly study about color and light and different material etc. and some landscape painting of cause. Try a different way of painting.....good work out.

dog desgin for a stroy

Here are some thumbnail for the dog design for a fairy tail story...which its all in Chinese while I reading it. I have to admit, when I start to design based on a story, it is harder then I expecting. So here is my take on the dog, I think later on I can push and make the design better but here is where all start.

Here are the 3 I have pick up to do the clean up line work. I still get the character need to work on so here is the final design ...for now

drawing update.

 I have done some quick sketch after I watched the film man of steel...it was  a pretty good superman film, at least i have not seen a good one for a while...and always thinking how did they storyboard it all out. you know kind interesting

 and here are character design sketch i done early in the morning, try to come up a new design base on some words. and here is what i got...nothing finish but a good way to keep my brain running.

my favor part of the day is sitting in a cafe or mall just sketch some people. as much as I like. or just sit there to drink coffee...whatever. it is good if I can have afternoon free.

its a trip!!!

Here is a illustration i just done, did the character 2 weeks ago. So I try to give it a background and try to bring more life into it....anyway, try to puch my self finish off all the personal work. 

sketch i did from my two weeks trip ( Korea and Japan)

I always wanted to doing sketch on the subway, but i am in New Zealand so the close thing to me for Subway is the train. And then I move to Christchurch I can only sitting in the mall and doing some cafe sketch. So this trip is a holiday to me and I can also doing my sketch on different location. It is fun to sketch on the different country's subway because you got to see different country react in the different way. To me its help a lot in life experience for a Artist. What do you think?
